ABHA or Ayushman Bharat Health Account is a 14-digit digital health ID issued under India's Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). It acts as a secure digital locker; it holds a person's medical records and links them from past consultations and test reports to prescriptions with the consent of the user.
When their profile is linked to an ABHA, patients can have their medical history from the treatment, reports, and prescriptions immediately and securely. This offers time savings, reduces paperwork, and helps ensure continuity of care, whether the patient is in the exact location or not.
Doctors and nurses get patient health history in real time and can also verify the history enabling more accurate diagnoses, reasonable treatments, and smooth referrals from within the HealthSynk interface.
